Sam's bandana is inspired by his experiences enjoying the local geography in his hometown of Austin, Texas. Specifically, Sam pays homage to kayaking the "Greenbelt" with friends. The "Greenbelt" refers to the local 12-mile system of hiking trails, waterways, limestone cliffs, and springs around Barton Creek in Austin, including the famous Barton Springs natural swimming pool.
In addition to being a go-to destination for hiking, biking, swimming, and rock-climbing, the Greenbelt serves as a point of public pride for the City of Austin. Sam's design evokes the multi-faceted appeal of the Greenbelt with his ode to the many waterfalls along this stretch of the creek, along with local flora and fauna featured in each corner. The rich colors mimic those of the Greenbelt during Fall, when Austin shakes off the summer heat and truly comes alive.
